Shocking news from the World Cup! Pakistan national team star tests positive for doping
A major doping scandal is erupting in Pakistani cricket.
Details: Veteran national team all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz has found himself in the spotlight of the International Cricket Council (ICC) after his doping sample, collected during the T20 World Cup 2026, tested positive for a banned recreational substance.
At this point, reports of an immediate disqualification are premature: there has been no official verdict from the ICC yet. Nawaz has already submitted his explanation to the governing bodies, insisting he did not intentionally take any banned substances and citing the use of medication for health issues.
The Pakistan Cricket Board is conducting its own internal investigation and has forwarded all medical reports to the ICC, which will make the final decision on the case.
Reminder: Here you can find the schedule and results of the upcoming Indian Premier League matches.
