The saga surrounding Celeste Amarilla’s racist remarks has reached an entirely new level of absurdity.
Details: According to RMC Sport, citing Paraguayan media, Celeste Amarilla’s lawyer, Guillermo Duarte Cascavelos, has claimed that Kylian Mbappé could potentially face legal action in Paraguay for defamation.

This centers on the French captain’s strong response to Amarilla’s racist abuse following France’s victory over Paraguay at the World Cup. Mbappé fired back at the senator, calling her unfit for office and accusing her of spreading hate.
Now, Amarilla’s camp has decided to counterattack. According to her lawyer, Mbappé’s comments had repercussions in Paraguay, meaning the case could allegedly be tried there. He even suggested the French striker could be extradited to appear before a Paraguayan court.
"Since the facts also had consequences in Paraguay, what Mbappé wrote could be the subject of legal proceedings here. We can initiate a case against Mbappé, and he could be extradited to stand trial in Paraguay," stated Guillermo Duarte Cascavelos.
However, legal experts in France have dismissed this scenario as having no legal basis.
Meanwhile, the Paris prosecutor’s office has already launched an investigation into Celeste Amarilla over her public racist insults and possible incitement to hatred. The French Football Federation has also issued a strong condemnation of her remarks.
Reminder: Is this the end? Morocco's main star ruled out against France.
