Shakira takes a dig at ex Gerard Piqué and his girlfriend during concert
Colombian pop star Shakira still seems to carry bitterness over her painful breakup with Barcelona legend Gerard Piqué. She once again addressed their relationship—this time on stage—during her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour, GOAL reports.
During the concert, Shakira altered the lyrics of her 2005 hit "Don't Bother", singing: “She’s better than you deserve, but still not better than me.” The pointed change was seen as a clear reference to Piqué’s current girlfriend, Clara Chía.
Piqué and Shakira split in 2022, reportedly due to the footballer’s infidelity. The couple had been together for 11 years and share two sons.
While Shakira is currently on tour, Piqué recently traveled to Miami to spend time with their children, while Clara Chía stayed behind. Reports suggest that the separation has not affected their relationship, and Clara fully supported Piqué’s decision to visit his kids.
Piqué retired from professional football in November 2022, leaving the sport as one of Barcelona’s most celebrated legends.
