India's Shafali Verma has claimed the award for the September ICC Women's Player of the Month.

Shafali Verma has now won the Player of the Month award twice, first in November last year when India won the World Cup.

Shafali Verma had a fantastic month, adding two trophies to his catalogue because India won two trophies this month: the Asia Cup and the Asian Games.

In T20 matches, Shafali Verma scored 360 runs at an average of 72, scoring at a rate of 184. Not only that, she took six wickets and kept the opposition to a few runs.

In the Asian Cup, she led the run-scoring with 236 in five matches, including 64 against Bangladesh W and 68 against Sri Lanka W.

In the Asian Games, she scored 188 runs in three matches, including 40 not out against Japan W, 100 off 49 balls against Bangladesh W, and 48 against Sri Lanka W.

Shafali Verma's impact in the two competitions made India Women win two gold medals.

Shafali Verma said, “It is an incredible honour to win the ICC Player of the Month award in November, and it was immensely satisfying to play my part in our two cup wins, and winning this award makes those triumphs even more special."
