A routine venue hire has turned into a major embarrassment for Banbury United.

Details: Banbury United issued a public apology after video clips from the UK Pleasure Boys’ Wet & Wild show at the Spencer Clubhouse began circulating online. The event, held on October 17, was ticketed and restricted to adults aged 18 and over. The club admitted that part of the performance towards the end of the night went beyond what it considers acceptable at its venue.

Footage spreading across social media appeared to show highly explicit interactions between the male performers and members of the audience, quickly turning the evening into a major talking point and forcing the football club to respond publicly.

Banbury United stressed that the venue had been booked by an external promoter as part of a UK-wide tour. The club apologised to anyone who was offended and confirmed that it is reviewing what happened.

The club also said it will revise its hire and conduct terms for future performance events. It is worth noting that Banbury United's men's first team competes in the Southern League Premier Division Central during the 2026/27 season.
