Sevilla has announced the appellation of its third coach this season Sevilla has announced the appellation of its third coach this season

Sevilla has announced that Quique Sánchez Flores will assume the mantle of the team's new coach, as reported on the club's official website.

It is divulged that the contract with the Spaniard is extended until the summer of 2025. Incidentally, he marks the third coach collaborating with Sevilla in this season. Presently, the Spanish collective holds the 17th position in La Liga, accruing a total of 13 points.

It is noteworthy that the 58-year-old Flores initiated his managerial career within the youth ranks of Real Madrid, where he once worked under the auspices of Rafael Benitez. Following two prosperous seasons, Flores took the helm at Getafe, securing the 13th position and accomplishing the task of retaining a place in La Liga.

Subsequently, he assumed leadership at Valencia, where Benitez also had previous involvement. In his inaugural season with the new club, Flores secured a commendable 3rd place. The following season, he progressed to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where his club succumbed to Chelsea.

Moreover, he has held managerial roles at Benfica, Atlético Madrid, Al-Ahli, Al-Ain, Watford, Espanyol, and Shanghai Shenhua, adding to his diverse coaching portfolio.

It is worth reminding that Sevilla officially declared the dismissal of Uruguayan tactician Diego Alonso from the position of head coach. This decision was made shortly after a home defeat to Getafe with a scoreline of 0:3 in a La Liga match.

Alonso had been at the helm of Sevilla since October, taking over from Jose Luis Mendilibar, who was also relieved of his duties due to unsatisfactory results in the current season.
