World Cup-winning defender Nicolás Tagliafico may be on the move this summer following Olympique Lyon’s administrative relegation due to financial irregularities. According to TyC Sports, both Sevilla and Roma are monitoring the 32-year-old, whose contract expires on June 30. Although Lyon has offered a renewal, the player is considering other opportunities.

The French club, owned by businessman John Textor, is expected to face an exodus of talent despite plans to appeal the decision. Tagliafico, who joined Lyon in 2022 and has since played 102 matches and scored nine goals, is among those likely to depart. The former Banfield and Ajax left-back is keen to remain in European football.

Independiente reached out to the player recently, but Tagliafico reportedly turned down the chance to return to Argentina for now. Sevilla’s interest may be fueled by the recent appointment of Matías Almeyda as head coach—Tagliafico played under him at Banfield between 2014 and 2015.

With his Lyon future uncertain and no official bids yet on the table, Tagliafico is expected to draw further interest across Europe as the transfer window progresses.
