Several players to leave Mamelodi Sundowns
Fresh off their FIFA Club World Cup campaign, Mamelodi Sundowns are preparing for a significant squad shake-up. The Brazilians entered the tournament without any new signings but have already begun trimming their roster, parting ways with three players.
Early Departures
Midfielder Sipho Mbule saw his loan spell at Sekhukhune United cut short due to reported disciplinary issues, while defender Rivaldo Coetzee struggled with injuries and limited playing time. Argentine loanee Lucas Suarez, once a highly touted signing, failed to adapt to Sundowns' system and was frequently exposed defensively, leading to his exit.
More Changes Coming?
With head coach Miguel Cardoso likely pushing for his own recruits, several other players could soon follow them out the door. Names like Terrence Mashego, Matias Esquivel, Kobamelo Kodisang, Kegan Johannes, and Thapelo Maseko are reportedly on the chopping block as Sundowns look to rebuild.
Will this clear-out pave the way for a new era at Chloorkop? One thing’s certain—the Brazilians aren’t wasting time.
