"Serious situation". Amorim on Lisandro Martínez's injury

In the 24th round of the Premier League, Manchester United suffered another defeat. Today, Ruben Amorim's team lost to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

In the second half, central defender Lisandro Martínez suffered a serious injury and had to leave the field on a stretcher.

Quote. "Lisandro’s injury? I think it’s a serious situation. He’s not only an excellent player but also a strong character in the locker room. He felt terrible, and when you're a player, you know when it's something serious. We’re here to help him," the coach told Fabrizio Romano.

Reminder. The player's reaction and the nature of the injury leave little doubt – it's most likely an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear.

If the tear is confirmed, the Argentine will be out for about a year, meaning he will miss the start of next season.
