Serious issues ahead of matches against Inter. Bayern loses third player in a week
Bayern's head coach Vincent Kompany is facing significant personnel challenges. The club's expensive newcomer has broken his leg for the second time.
Details: According to the club's official website, Hiroki Ito has sustained a serious injury – he has been diagnosed with a metatarsal fracture. This means the Japanese player will miss the Champions League matches against Inter and the rest of the season.
Notably, this is the second occurrence of such an injury for Ito at Bayern. Last summer, after transferring from Stuttgart for 23.5 million euros, he suffered an identical injury, which sidelined him for six months.
Reminder: Recently, the Munich club has already lost two key defenders – Dayot Upamecano and Alphonso Davies. Both players sustained injuries that will keep them off the field until the end of the season, and in Davies' case, recovery might extend until the end of the year.
