Serie A star could become Xabi Alonso's first signing at Chelsea

London club Chelsea are showing serious interest in Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso.

Details: According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Blues’ management see the 26-year-old Italian as the perfect reinforcement for their defensive flanks ahead of the new season. Reports indicate that Juventus have already set a price tag for their key player, with the Turin side ready to consider offers in the €40–50 million range.

This bold stance from the Bianconeri is driven by tough financial realities. Juventus missed out on Champions League qualification for next season, resulting in massive losses. The club is now forced to trim its wage bill and urgently patch up the budget by offloading top players.

This season, the Italian full-back has made 47 appearances for the Turin giants, netting 3 goals and providing 5 assists. Transfermarkt currently values the player at €20 million.

Reminder: Enzo Maresca has approved Manchester City’s first major signing of the summer—a move for Chelsea defender Malo Gusto.
