Serie A outsider sacked coach after 5 matches. His successor is already known
Salernitana, which is the worst-performing team in the current Serie A season, has sacked head coach Fabio Liverani. This marks the third coaching departure from the club this season.
According to Nicolò Schira, the new head coach of Salernitana will be Stefano Colantuono, who currently serves as the head of the club's youth department.
Liverani took over as Salernitana's head coach on February 11th of this year, replacing Filippo Inzaghi. Under his leadership, the team played only 5 matches and earned 1 point.
This will be Colantuono's third stint as the head coach of Salernitana. He previously coached the team from October 2021 to February 2022 and from December 2017 to December 2018.
In addition to Salernitana, Colantuono has managed Udinese, Torino, Palermo, Bari, and Catania. He gained significant recognition while coaching Atalanta from 2010 to 2015.
In 29 Serie A rounds, Salernitana have only 14 points and are in last place.
