Serena is more than just a fan of Los Angeles Golf Club—she is also a co-owner alongside her sister Venus Williams and husband Alexis Ohanian. The trio acquired the franchise in June 2023.
“It's so exciting to be here as a team owner and get a different look at things. It's so wild. It's something you see a little bit in tennis. We see it all the time in basketball, right? But we don't see it so much in golf. Actually, we never see that in golf,” Serena told ESPN after the match.
TGL (Tomorrow Golf League) was co-founded by golf superstars Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. The innovative league features a hybrid format, where matches are partially played in real stadiums and partially through golf simulators.
