Such conduct only brings shame to athletes.
Details: After today's defeat in the round of 32 singles at the ATP Monte Carlo, world No. 10 Daniil Medvedev reacted extremely inappropriately towards the racket he used during the match.
Having lost 0-2 to world No. 90 Matteo Berrettini, Medvedev started smashing his racket and throwing it onto the court while shouting various expletives.
The drama was heightened by the fact that Berrettini easily overcame the seemingly formidable favorite Medvedev, not allowing him to win a single game—6:0, 6:0.
Medvedev simply couldn't control his emotions after such a humiliating defeat and took out all his anger on his racket.
In the round of 16, Berrettini will face Belgian Zizou Bergs, who defeated another Russian player, Andrey Rublev, 2-0 in the previous round.
