Senegal’s women’s national team win their first friendly against Egypt

The Lionesses have got off to a flying start in their preparations for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, due to take place this summer in Morocco.
The Senegalese women’s team passed their first test as part of their preparations for the 2026 African Women’s Cup of Nations. Facing the Egyptian women’s team in a friendly on Wednesday 8 July, the Senegalese side emerged victorious.
The Lionesses won the match 1-0. Nguenar Ndiaye scored the only goal of the match in the 48th minute from the penalty spot.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday 11 July for the second leg of this two-legged tie, which forms part of their preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations, to be held from 25 July to 16 August in Morocco.
