Senegalese striker Boulaye Dia could be set for a return to Ligue 1
Rennes are reportedly making the Senegalese international their top priority as the summer transfer window draws to a close.
The French club is trying to bring Boulaye Dia back in the final days of the transfer window. According to reports, Rennes have submitted an offer to Lazio of around €10 million for the 29-year-old Senegalese international.
This sum is deemed insufficient by the Italian club, which is reportedly demanding nearly €15 million to let go of its Senegalese striker, who is still under contract until 2028. Talks between the two clubs are ongoing.
However, Boulaye Dia is said to have already made up his mind. The Senegalese striker is reported to have given his personal consent to join Rennes. The player is said to be attracted by the prospect of returning to the French league.
Should the move go ahead, Boulaye Dia would be returning to a league he knows well. He played in Ligue 1 for Stade de Reims between 2018 and 2021. It was in France that the Senegalese international first made a name for himself in Europe before moving to Villarreal in Spain and then Salernitana in Italy.
