Senegalese midfielder Pape Daouda Diong joins the Belgian Pro League
Having spent last season on loan from Strasbourg to Dunkerque, the 20-year-old Senegalese player is now leaving the French club to continue his career in Belgium.
Pape Daouda Diong has signed for Westerlo on a four-year deal, running until 2030. The Belgian club paid €2.5 million to secure the services of the Senegalese international.
Westerlo officially announced the signing of the Senegalese midfielder on Thursday 27 August. “KVC Westerlo welcomes Pape Diong. The 20-year-old Senegalese defensive midfielder arrives from RC Strasbourg Alsace and has signed a four-year contract.”
Pape Daouda Diong will therefore be experiencing the Belgian league for the first time and taking on a new challenge whilst playing for Westerlo. The 20-year-old midfielder already has experience with the Senegalese national teams.
He has made three appearances for the Senegal U20s. Pape Daouda Diong has also represented the Senegalese national team. He made his debut for the Lions of Teranga in September 2023.
