Senegalese Ligue 1: race to dethrone Teungueth FC begins Saturday

The 2026–2027 season of the Senegalese professional league gets underway this Saturday, 17 October, with seven fixtures on the programme.

The clubs return to competition aiming for a successful start to the campaign, whilst Teungueth FC, the reigning champions, will have to wait a little longer before playing their first match.

The new season kicks off at 4.15 pm GMT at the Djibril Diagne Stadium, with a clash between Génération Foot and AS Pikine. The other six matches on this opening day are scheduled for 5 pm GMT.

Several fixtures are set to attract attention, notably Essamaye FC versus Diambars, Wallydaan against Stade de Mbour and Guédiawaye FC taking on Dakar SC. AS HLM will host Casa Sports, whilst ASC Jaraaf will face AJEL Rufisque. US Gorée will take on La Linguère.

However, reigning champions Teungueth FC will not be in action this Saturday. As they are competing in the CAF Champions League, the club’s match against US Ouakam has been postponed.
