Stade Rennais has chosen Senegalese football veteran Habib Beye as its new head coach, following a challenging season that saw the team finish 16th in Ligue 1's relegation playoff zone.

Beye, a retired right-back with coaching experience at Red Star, will take on this job until the conclusion of the current season, with a one-year extension option.

The squad has had its worst performance in 23 years, and Beye will need to make a rapid turnaround. His first game as manager will be against Racing Club de Strasbourg, where he began his career, giving emotional weight to this critical encounter.

Beyoncé conveys optimism by highlighting the team's strength in spite of recent issues. "I observe a well-balanced and orderly club.

"The task is what motivates me," Beye added, hoping to energize training and give the squad a boost. Rebuilding trust and guaranteeing his survival in the top flight will depend heavily on his attitude.

One of Beye's previous management stints was with Red Star, when he led the team to promotion to Ligue 2.

He is keen to make an impression at Stade Rennais and intends to forge a strong identity for the team by focusing on a high-intensity style of play, even if he is new to top-tier management.

Supporters are hopeful that his leadership will be the catalyst the team needs to escape relegation and rekindle its goals.
