Senegalese Federation Confirm Dates Patrick Vieira Will Unveil Senegal Squad for 2027 AFCON Qualifiers

The Senegalese Football Federation has confirmed the date for new head coach Patrick Vieira to unveil his first squad for the Lions of Teranga ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

According to an official statement from the Senegalese Football Federation, Vieira will hold his first press conference as Senegal head coach on Friday, September 18, at the Léopold Sédar Senghor Stadium in Dakar, where he will officially name the players selected for the next international window.

Senegal are in Group J alongside Ethiopia, Mozambique and Sudan in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.

The Lions of Teranga will begin their qualifying campaign away against Mozambique on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Estádio Nacional do Zimpeto in Maputo.

Vieira's side will then travel to face Ethiopia on Tuesday, September 29, before rounding off the international window with a friendly against Comoros on October 4 in Marseille, France.
