Senegalese fans will not be able to travel to the United States for the World Cup
Without visas, they are unable to make the trip.
Senegal will not be able to count on its supporters from Dakar for the World Cup, which takes place from 11 June to 19 July in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Like their Ivorian counterparts, supporters of the Lions of Teranga have been refused visas to enter the United States.
Consequently, no official delegation of supporters will be travelling to the United States to support the Senegal national team, Senegalese authorities told AFP. This situation comes on top of that of the Somali referee, Omar Abdulkadir Artan, who was turned away from the United States a few days earlier.
Senegal begin their World Cup campaign on 16 June against France in Group I. The Lions of Teranga will then face Norway on 23 June and Iraq on 26 June to conclude the group stage.
