Senegalese defender Mikayil Faye will play for FC Nürnberg next season

Rennes have loaned the Senegalese to the Bundesliga 2 side for one season, with an option to buy.

Mikayil Faye will play in the German second division next season. The 22-year-old defender has joined FC Nürnberg on loan from the French club, Rennes.

The loan agreement between the two clubs includes a buy-out clause. Mikayil Faye may therefore not return to France at the end of the 2026–2027 season.

This is the Senegalese player’s second loan spell, following his time at US Cremonese in Serie A last season. Mikayil Faye had played for FC Barcelona’s reserve team before joining Rennes in 2024.
