FIFA regulations do not allow it.
As 2021 African champions, Senegal will not be able to wear the star on their shirt during the World Cup, which will take place from 11 June to 19 July 2026 in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Indeed, during a World Cup, FIFA prohibits the display of stars won in continental competitions.
Only countries that have won a World Cup are allowed to display stars on their shirts during the tournament. Senegal will kick off their 2026 World Cup campaign on 16 June against France in Group I.
