Senegal to showcase the Africa Cup of Nations trophy at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium
The Lions of Teranga’s international friendly against Gambia in Dakar will be preceded by a ceremony to celebrate their 2025 African championship title this Tuesday 31 March.
Just as they did on Saturday 28 March at the Stade de France, Senegal will parade their Africa Cup of Nations trophy won on 18 January 2026 in Rabat in front of their supporters in Dakar. The Lions of Teranga are not deterred by the decision of the African Football Confederation’s Appeal Committee to strip them of the title and award it to Morocco.
The international friendly against Gambia, scheduled for 7 pm GMT this Tuesday 31 March at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium, will therefore take place in a festive atmosphere. The presentation ceremony is scheduled to last 15 minutes. The Senegalese Football Federation has already announced that the match will be played to a full house. That said, a large number of supporters are expected at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium this evening.
