Senegal Forward Ibrahim Mbaye Reveals Hakimi Informed Him About CAF Ruling

Ibrahim Mbaye has opened up about the recent CAF Appeals Committee decision to award the 2025 AFCON title to Morocco, revealing that Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi personally informed him about the ruling.

Speaking candidly in an interview, Mbaye recounted how Hakimi broke the news to him:

“I wasn’t even aware,” Mbaye admitted. “It was Hakimi who informed me. He said, 'Did you see the news? They gave us the trophy.' I didn’t have a particular reaction because we won on the pitch. I have the medal; it’s still at my place, and the trophy is at home. For me, it changes nothing: we won on the pitch.”
