The United States Embassy in Dakar has reportedly denied visa applications for six officials from the Senegalese Football Federation, including one of its vice presidents, just months before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to sources familiar with the situation, the officials were scheduled to travel to the United States for duties related to the upcoming tournament. However, their visa requests were refused.
As of now, the Senegalese Football Federation has not released an official statement addressing the visa denials or clarifying how the situation might affect their logistical planning for the competition.
Senegal has been drawn into Group I, where they will face France, Iraq, and Norway.
