The Lions of Teranga have dropped two places.
FIFA has updated its rankings for men’s national teams following the March 2026 international break. However, Senegal, who were crowned African champions before being stripped of their title by CAF in favour of Morocco, have slipped down the rankings. The Lions of Teranga have dropped from 12th to 14th place despite their victories against Peru and Gambia during the March 2026 FIFA window.
The Senegalese national team nevertheless retains second place in Africa behind Morocco, to whom the Confederation of African Football awarded the 2025 African Championship title following a decision handed down on 17 March by the governing body’s Appeals Committee.
