FIFA president Gianni Infantino found himself at the center of a fresh wave of criticism after giving a bizarre response to a question about his possible resignation. Amid growing discontent with his leadership, Sky News journalist James Matthews directly asked the FIFA chief why he doesn't step down.

The question came against the backdrop of a scandal involving FIFA's plans to sell stakes in major tournaments to private investors. Three continental confederations accused Infantino of "deception," while UEFA even threatened to boycott FIFA competitions, declaring that they had lost trust in his leadership.

Instead of answering, Infantino unexpectedly complimented the reporter's haircut: "You have a nice haircut." The FIFA president then added, "See you at the hairdresser's," clearly referencing the fact that both men are bald.

Video of the exchange quickly went viral on social media. Fans slammed Infantino for dodging serious questions and branded his behavior as dismissive.

Meanwhile, Infantino has repeatedly stated that he intends to run for another term in March 2027. If he does step down or decides not to seek re-election, leading contenders to succeed him as FIFA president include Aleksander Ceferin and Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
