Details: In an interview with Italian media, Barcelona sporting director Deco confirmed that the Catalan club had indeed explored the possibility of signing Inter striker Lautaro Martínez, but ended all contact immediately after the Milan side firmly rejected the idea.

According to the Portuguese executive, Barcelona acted with the utmost respect: the Blaugrana president contacted Inter’s leadership, and as soon as it became clear that the forward was not for sale, the Catalans respected the Milan club’s status and never raised the subject again. Deco categorically denied rumors of negotiations with the player himself or his representatives, noting that Lautaro remains a symbol, a legend and the captain of Inter, although he has long personally admired the Argentine’s ability.

It is worth noting that the 29-year-old striker has played for the Milan club since the summer of 2018 and wears the captain’s armband.
