Former PSG and Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi has once again found himself embroiled in a major scandal after retiring from professional football. The Argentine, known not only for his performances on the pitch but also for his turbulent private life, has been implicated in a case involving alleged blackmail over intimate video footage.
According to the Daily Star, the sensational situation erupted shortly after his departure from football in December 2019. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lavezzi traveled to the Caribbean island of Saint Barthélemy with Brazilian model Natalia Borges. Their relationship caused a stir, as the model had previously been involved with one of Lavezzi's close friends.
The romance became public after the pair posted joint photos from their tropical getaway on social media. Later, the player's former partner, Yanina Screpante, confirmed that Borges had indeed been seeing Lavezzi's friend and criticized the ex-striker's behavior, claiming such incidents had happened before.
According to Screpante, Lavezzi began his relationship with the model even before she had officially broken up with his friend. She also pointed out that similar episodes had occurred in the past, suggesting a pattern of such behavior. However, the biggest scandal broke out over the alleged blackmail. Unknown individuals threatened Lavezzi and Borges with the release of intimate videos and photos, demanding around £4,000 for each file to keep them private.
A source close to the couple revealed that the blackmailers contacted them through social media, claiming to possess not just video materials but also recordings of private conversations. They described the content of the files in detail, making their threats seem even more credible.
Lavezzi's relationship with Borges ended in 2022, but the story didn’t stop there. Later on, the model claimed that the footballer tried to reconnect with her, sending messages while his new partner was expecting a child.
