Scandal rocks the football world. Former Gareth Bale agent faces rape and human trafficking charges

Former football agent Jonathan Barnett is at the heart of a major scandal in the United States, facing serious allegations of rape, torture, and human trafficking.
According to The Guardian, a woman has filed a civil lawsuit against Barnett in a California court, claiming he kept her in sexual slavery for six years, repeatedly raped her, and threatened both her and her children.
The victim alleges that in 2017 she was taken from Australia to the United Kingdom. Barnett and his former agency, CAA, have categorically denied all accusations and intend to fight the lawsuit in court.
Barnett was one of the most influential football agents in the world and founded Stellar Group, which eventually became part of CAA. Among his clients was the legendary Gareth Bale, whose record-breaking €101 million transfer to Real Madrid became one of the most talked-about deals in football history.
Currently, CAA represents top players such as Jack Grealish, Ibrahima Konaté, and others.
