A major scandal has erupted at one of Australia’s largest golf clubs, 13th Beach Golf Links in Victoria.
Details: In protest against the lower membership fees for women, one of the club members dressed in women’s clothing and claimed to now identify as a different gender.
As a result, two staff members who filmed the man were fired.
The club's board is now considering the dismissal of club manager Grant Phelps, primarily due to this incident.
It’s worth noting that 13th Beach Golf Links aims to make golf a more inclusive sport. Currently, only 18% of the club's members are women, but the goal is to increase that figure to 30%.
