In recent hours in Spain, a mini-controversy has erupted on social media due to a gesture by Dario Brizuela towards Yasmina Alcaraz, one of the three referees of the match won against Tenerife.
The Spanish player, during the last quarter, committed a foul away from the ball called by Alcaraz and began to protest against her. While he was doing so while walking across the field, Brizuela patted the referee on the butt.
From the way Alcaraz turns and from the gesture he seems to make before the cut to the replay, it would seem that Brizuela was punished with a technical foul. In reality, the Spaniard was given a simple personal foul for the play that led to the referee's whistle.
