Footballers from the Australian championship have been banned from all football-related activities.

Details: The Football Federation Australia has announced the disqualification of four players in a match-fixing case. Among those punished is New Zealand international Clayton Lewis.

Former Macarthur players Clayton Lewis and Kearyn Baccus have each received five-year bans, effective from May 17—the date their provisional suspensions began. However, both players can reduce their bans by one year if they complete 200 hours of unpaid football-related community service as part of integrity and education programs. In that case, their disqualification will end in May 2028.

Japanese footballers Riku Danzaki and Yuta Hirayama received even harsher punishments. Both have been banned from all football activities for seven years, with the disqualification coming into effect from July 1, 2025.

Recall: AC Milan is close to signing West Ham striker Niclas Füllkrug on loan.
