The coaching staff of Greek club AEK has undergone unexpected changes.
Details: Head coach Marko Nikolic has made the immediate decision to part ways with his assistant, Aleksandar Rogic. The reason for this drastic move was an unsportsmanlike act by the assistant, who secretly chose to attend a EuroLeague basketball game instead of focusing on football, without informing the management.
The conflict arose after Rogic attended the match between Olympiacos and Crvena Zvezda in Piraeus. The situation quickly gained attention because the assistant coach spent the evening with legendary tennis star Novak Djokovic.
Marko Nikolic was deeply outraged by the fact that his assistant failed to inform him about the trip to watch a key rival’s match in another sport, and did so in the company of Novak Djokovic. As a result, Nikolic made a strong-willed decision to dismiss Rogic from his staff, emphasizing that team discipline comes above personal connections and leisure activities.
Reports state that Rogic has already left the club, and AEK is now in search of a new assistant coach.
Reminder: Carlos Alcaraz became the youngest player in history to achieve a Career Grand Slam.
