Saudi club set to break their transfer record for the sake of bringing in an Aston Villa player
Al-Ittihad, despite the presence of the likes of Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante, frankly failed last season, finishing only fifth in the Saudi Arabian league. But bosses are ready to rectify that with an injection of cash into the squad.
As reported by Santi Aouna, Al-Ittihad have sent a transfer offer to Aston Villa for winger Moussa Diabe. The Saudi club are offering a record-breaking €55 million for the 25-year-old.
It is not yet known how Birmingham City will respond to this offer, but it is believed that they will need to check their accounts and offer a more convincing sum.
This sum would exceed Al-Ittihad's record by almost €10 million. The highest price is currently held by Fabinho's move from Liverpool to Al-Ittihad for €46.7 million last summer.
