Saudi club is interested in French national team player
Aston Villa's primary left-back, Lucas Digne, has become the new transfer target for Saudi club Al-Hilal, as reported by L'Équipe.
The sheikhs plan to secure the French footballer on a loan basis until the end of the season, with an option to buy. However, Digne has not yet made a final decision.
If Al-Hilal cannot sign Digne, an alternative option for the club is Bayern Munich's Raphaël Guerreiro, who has seen limited playing time since moving from Dortmund to Munich.
Digne has been a key defender for Aston Villa this season, contributing 2 assists in 18 English Premier League matches. Prior to joining Aston Villa, he played for Everton, PSG, Barcelona, Roma, and Lille.
The 30-year-old defender has earned 46 caps for the French national team.
Al-Hilal leads the Saudi Arabian league with 53 points in 19 matches. The club boasts notable players such as Yassine Bounou, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, Sergey Milinkovic-Savic, Malcolm, Aleksandar Mitrovic, and Neymar.
