Saudi Arabia's top club announces signing of England striker

Last night, the summer transfer window officially closed in most European countries. As usual, on the final day, several high-profile transfers were announced.
One of the last deals saw Brentford and England national team striker Ivan Toney move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli.
According to preliminary information, the transfer fee is €40 million, with the player set to earn €20 million per season.
Toney has spent his entire career in England, having played for Newcastle, Wigan, Peterborough, and several other clubs. He has been with Brentford since 2020. Last season, he made seventeen appearances for the Bees, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
This year, Toney was called up to the England national team for the first time and was included in the squad for Euro 2024. He made three appearances, totaling just over an hour of playing time, but did not register any goals or assists.
Al-Ahli finished third in the league last season, trailing leaders Al-Hilal by 31 points, and secured a spot in the AFC Champions League. The club has won the national championship twice, the King Cup ten times, the Crown Prince Cup four times, and the Saudi Federation Cup three times.
