Brazilian winger Neymar, who failed to establish himself as a key player at Al-Hilal, will leave the club as a free agent and return to Brazil.
Details: The sporting director of Santos has officially confirmed that Neymar will continue his career with their team. The winger will sign a six-month contract with his former club.
Earlier reports indicated that Neymar plans to return to European football in the summer of 2025. At Santos, he aims to regain peak physical condition and match fitness to meet the demands of European football. Neymar’s ultimate goal is to secure a spot on Brazil's national team roster for the 2026 World Cup.
Reminder: Neymar will need to forgo a significant portion of his salary to facilitate his return to Santos. Neymar originally moved from Santos to Barcelona in the summer of 2013 for €88 million. For his boyhood club, he played 225 matches, scoring 136 goals and providing 64 assists.
