Independiente Santa Fe is preparing for a packed 2026 season after claiming the Liga BetPlay Apertura title. With Copa Libertadores group stage action on the horizon, the Colombian champions have secured a verbal agreement with their first major signing: experienced winger Yairo Moreno.
As reported by journalist Felipe Sierra and confirmed by Futbolred, the 30-year-old former Colombia international is expected in Bogotá this week to undergo medical tests. If cleared, he will sign a one-year contract through June 30, 2026.
Moreno brings a wealth of experience from both domestic and international football. He previously played for Independiente Medellín, as well as León and Pachuca in Liga MX. The financial terms of the deal are fully agreed upon, leaving only the medical results to finalize the transfer.
Under manager Jorge Bava, Santa Fe is looking to build on its recent success and add players with proven quality. Yairo Moreno’s arrival could mark the beginning of a reinforced squad ready to compete on multiple fronts in 2026.
