In a bizarre episode from Argentina’s AFA Women’s Youth League, San Lorenzo lost all three scheduled matches against Estudiantes de La Plata in the U14, U16, and U19 categories—without playing a single minute. The reason? The club failed to request the mandatory ambulance for the matches.

The oversight led referees and AFA officials to suspend the triple-header at San Lorenzo’s training complex. As stipulated by tournament rules, the points were automatically awarded to Estudiantes, as the responsibility for the error fell solely on the home side.

ESPN journalist Leandro Alves revealed the blunder wasn't financial: “I was told it wasn’t about payment. Someone simply forgot to ask for it. Even worse,” he wrote on social media.

San Lorenzo has yet to release an official statement, but fans were quick to react with harsh criticism of the club's management. The mistake has amplified frustration among supporters, particularly amid leadership turmoil, as president Marcelo Moretti considers ending his leave of absence and returning to his role.

The growing discontent led to a tense protest at the club's Avenida La Plata headquarters, where fans gathered and clashed briefly with police before being allowed inside to continue their demonstration peacefully.
