Samuel Eto’o wins his case before the CAF Appeals Committee

The committee has decided to overturn the sanctions that had been imposed on the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation following the match between Cameroon and Morocco at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Samuel Eto’o had been sanctioned by the CAF Disciplinary Committee following the Indomitable Lions’ match against the Atlas Lions in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The former Cameroonian international had been handed a four-match suspension and a fine of $20,000.

However, the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation had appealed against this decision to the CAF Appeals Committee. And the former captain of the Indomitable Lions has had his appeal upheld.

The CAF Appeals Committee has lifted the four-match suspension imposed on him and quashed the $20,000 fine. This brings an end to all disciplinary sanctions relating to this case.

This decision represents a victory for the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation. Samuel Eto’o is therefore no longer subject to any restrictions.
