Samuel Eto’o congratulates Vedat Muriqi after he broke his La Liga goalscoring record with RCD Mallorca

The former Spanish club striker sent a message to the Kosovan international.

Samuel Eto’o is no longer Mallorca’s all-time leading scorer in La Liga. The goal-scoring record (54) set by the former Indomitable Lion over 20 years ago was surpassed by Vedat Muriqi last weekend. The Kosovar striker has now scored 55 La Liga goals for RCD Mallorca. A feat that has not gone unnoticed by Samuel Eto’o. In a video message shared on social media, the Cameroonian offered his congratulations and encouragement to the Kosovar.

Hi Vedat, from here in Cameroon, I wanted to congratulate you. Congratulations on what you’ve just achieved. I know it took a huge amount of time, really a lot, but don’t forget to keep it up, keep fighting and make our Mallorca even greater. Congratulations once again to you and to all the teammates who helped you reach this goal. Well done.
