Saleng to leave Orlando? Pirates star could follow Riveiro to Egyptian giants Al Ahly

Former Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro is on the verge of being appointed by one of Africa’s biggest clubs—Egypt’s Al Ahly. In the wake of this news, rumors have surfaced that one of his former charges, winger Monnapule Saleng, might join him in Cairo.
According to Kick Off, once details of the negotiations between Riveiro and Al Ahly became public, talk of a possible Saleng transfer to Egypt gained new momentum. While the coach hasn’t ruled out such a move, he emphasized that he is not yet directly involved in the transfer policy of his prospective club.
“Orlando Pirates boasts a squad filled with talented and promising players. But as a coach, it’s not my role to make the key decisions in this area. Yes, in the modern football system, coaches do have some influence over personnel matters, but the final decisions are made at the club’s strategic level,” Riveiro said in an interview on the MSW show on radio station 947.
So, while Saleng’s transfer has not yet been confirmed, his connection with Riveiro and Al Ahly’s reported interest continue to fuel speculation about a possible move.
