Mohamed Salah could make a stunning return to Roma in 2026 as a free agent. Salah's contract with Liverpool is nearing its end, and the player has already confirmed he is prepared to leave the English club once the deal expires.
According to Football Italia, the 34-year-old winger is considering a move back to the club where he previously played and first made his name on the European stage. Salah represented the Giallorossi from 2015 to 2017, before being sold to Liverpool. It was with the Roman side that he truly emerged as a top-level talent after spells at Chelsea and Fiorentina.
Despite interest from MLS and Saudi Arabian clubs, the option of returning to Italy is seen as a very real possibility. However, a move to Roma would require Salah to accept a significant pay cut—from his current salary of around €12 million per year to about €4 million, in line with the club's internal financial restrictions.
