Sad News as Rivers United Involved in Road Accident En Route to Federation Cup Clash

Rivers United were involved in a road accident on Thursday while travelling to Awka, Anambra State, ahead of their President’s Federation Cup Round of 16 fixture against Nasarawa United.

The incident reportedly occurred along the Obiri-Ikwerre Airport Road on the outskirts of Port Harcourt shortly after the team departed from their training camp.

In an official statement, the club confirmed that several players and officials sustained minor injuries during the accident. Fortunately, no fatalities or life-threatening injuries were recorded.
