Manchester City have been found guilty of 114 financial breaches, and now the club is facing claims of yet another violation, this time of the Premier League's broadcasting regulations.

Details: According to talkSPORT, Manchester City violated rule K.207 of the Premier League handbook, which obliges clubs to make the manager and at least one prominent player available to radio broadcasters after every league match. City reportedly refused to let Enzo Maresca speak to talkSPORT and other radio stations and offered no explanation, although the Italian did speak to Sky Sports and at his post-match press conference.

The incident took place after City's commanding 3-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, the club's first match since the independent commission delivered its guilty verdict on the long-running financial case. The atmosphere at the ground was hostile, with home fans booing the visitors and displaying banners referencing the charges.

Rule K.207 of the Premier League handbook for the 2026/27 season states that each club participating in a league match must ensure that every radio broadcaster holding rights to the match is permitted to interview at least one player who featured prominently and the manager following the game. City's refusal reportedly applied to all radio outlets, not just talkSPORT.

While the league cannot impose sporting sanctions for this particular breach, administrative fines are the standard punishment for such violations. The timing is awkward for the club, which has appealed the financial verdict and continues to insist on its innocence while awaiting the punishment phase of the case.

It is worth noting that Premier League clubs are reportedly planning to write to chief executive Richard Masters demanding that the City case, including all appeals, be resolved within the current season so that any sanctions take effect as soon as possible.
