Star Australian rugby player Jarryd Hayne is set to return to the field, bringing excitement to his fans once again.

The athlete is regarded as one of the greatest players in NRL history, having won the prestigious Dally M Medal twice. In addition to his success in Oceania, Hayne also had a brief stint in the United States, playing for the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. However, nearly seven years have passed since his last official match—his most recent appearance came at the Gold Coast Nines tournament in 2018.

Since then, Hayne has faced three legal cases related to sexual assault allegations, serving two years in prison.

Now 34 years old, Hayne has joined the Wentworthville Magpies, a semi-professional rugby club. Additionally, he is expected to take on a role as a youth coach.

"We carefully considered everything before making the decision to bring Jarryd on board," said club president Elias Kassab. "He is a completely different person now. We’re excited to have him play for us and work with the kids in our school. Many will have their own opinions, but we know how genuinely Jarryd wants to return to the game in a positive way."

"Last season, he voluntarily came to visit and spent time with both young kids and older players, making a truly positive impact."

"We believe in second chances for those who are sincere, and Jarryd has been sincere," Kassab concluded.

Earlier, it was reported that former rugby player Gavin Henson opened up about a health condition that has affected his ability to communicate with teammates.
