Legendary former striker Wayne Rooney has revealed that he doesn't shy away from his dream of managing Everton or Manchester United.

"That’s the ambition. To manage Manchester United – that would be an incredible job. I must get back into coaching, work my way up, and hopefully, in 10 years, I can get that job," Rooney stated, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

In the current season, Rooney coached the Championship club Birmingham but was dismissed after a series of unfavorable results.

Throughout his coaching career, Rooney has also had stints with Derby County and DC United.

As a player, Rooney featured in 559 matches for Manchester United, scoring 253 goals and providing 145 assists.
