After working as an assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Mikel Arteta has become quite a successful coach in his own right, what with Arsenal getting back into the championship race during the Spaniard's cadence.

It's a path Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney is also ready to take, as the forward himself said on the Stick to Football podcast:

"It depends on the situation. If Pep comes and asks me to be his assistant, I will come! Look at what Arteta is doing now and I am convinced he has learnt a lot from Guardiola."

Rooney himself is not doing well with the head coach job. He made his coaching debut at Derby County before moving to MLS club D.C. United. In the USA he won only 14 of 53 matches before taking charge of Birmingham City.

He didn't do well there either. Rooney only stayed for 15 games, in which he scored only two victories.
